The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Tulsa are accepting sealed bids from Wednesday, October 9, 2017 until 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2017 for unitized dinners and after school snacks.

The bids, and subsequent selection of an awardee, precede the commencement of a formal request for federal funding through an entitlement program sponsored by the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), which provides feeding programs for low income, at-risk youth.

If funding is procured, the ability for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Tulsa to add hot dinners to its offering of essential meals and snacks to area children represents a significant step forward for the organization. At present, afternoon snacks are provided at many of the clubs, some of which also offer lunch during the summer months.

All qualifying clubs eligible for the unitized dinners fall within a mandated requirement stipulating that at least 50-percent of the students of an attendant school are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. Within the metropolitan area, there are six Boys & Girls Clubs, five of which qualify for federally funded free meals to area children.

This is an official procurement process in full compliance with stringent federal, state and local requirements, laws and policies; interested bidders must use the approved Invitation to Bid forms to be considered. No submissions will be accepted beyond the 4:30 PM October 23rd deadline.

Bid proposal packets are available through The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Tulsa administrative office at 924 South Hudson (The Salvation Army Tulsa Area Command); or by calling executive director, Richard White, at 918.587.7801; or E-mail at
